Terms and Conditions

Please read carefully the following Terms and Conditions regarding bookings through our site. In the following text “Federation” refers to our organization (The Federation of Owners of Tourist Accommodation of Corfu).

1.The Role of the Federation

To connect prospective customers and subscribing business members with the least expense and most satisfaction for both parties.

2. Your contract with the accommodation provider

After having chosen an accommodation and booking period, you submit the booking request form from our site.

You will receive a reply within 24 hours informing you if your request can be met or not, detailing the cost and methods available to pay the required deposit for confirmation of the booking.

3. Payment method

A 30% deposit is required to confirm your booking request. The balance must be paid on arrival directly with the accommodation provider.

If the full amount is paid before your arrival at your accommodation, the following discounts are available:

More than 6 months before arrival 10%

Between 3 and 6 months before arrival 6%

Between 1 and 3 months before arrival 4%

4. Charges for additional services

For the departure day the following apply:

• You may use your accommodation until 12 noon
• Use of the accommodation until 18:00 is charged 50% of the daily rate
• Use of the accommodation past 18:00 is charged as an additional day

An additional bed can be placed in the room or apartment upon request with a 20% surcharge, or according to any specific accommodation provider policy.

The following items are not considered additional and incur no surcharges:
Supply of hot/cold water
Soap
Toilet paper
Heating – air-conditioning (where available)

In addition, there are no surcharges for local taxes or Value Added Tax (VAT).

5. Cancellation of booking

A cancellation can be made by the same person who made the booking with the following conditions:

• If you cancel 22 days before your expected arrival, you are entitled to a full refund
• If you cancel 21 days before expected arrival, then you should pay 50% of the total amount for the agreed period
• In case of cancellation during your stay, you should pay 50% for the remaining of the agreed period.
• In a ‘no show’ case you will be charge 50% of the total amount due.

6. Change of booking details

Changes to booking details can be requested only by the person who made the initial booking and can only be accepted for:

• Change to the arrival or departure date
• Change to the number of persons in the group
• Change to the type of accommodation

Changes may incur an administration charge of up to 20 euros.

The accommodation provider will do his best to satisfy your request, if this is feasible.

7. Responsibility of the Federation

The Federation has a purely intermediary role and has no responsibility towards the prospective contract sides.

The Federation does however check the validity and accuracy for information provided by subscribing businesses.

8. Customers Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for any material damages caused by themselves or their visitors.

Customers’ behavior should be acceptable and not insulting towards the staff or other customers. In case of bad behavior the accommodation provider is entitled to expel the customer charging him any cancellation fees applicable. The customer, in case he feels any action against him unjustified, can ask for the Federation’s mediation (see paragraph 9) or can report it to the appropriate authorities.

9. Complaint procedure

If you wish to complain for whatever reason regarding your accommodation, please contact the accommodation manager. If your problem cannot be solved, you should contact the Federation Offices at 2661026133 or 2661025259. A member of our staff will attempt to find a satisfactory solution to your problem.

If a satisfactory solution to a justified complaint cannot be found, the federation will pay every possible effort to finding alternative accommodation.
